About Fiona Walker
I moved with my family from the U.K to Kelowna in 2007. In my 20 years of field experience, I have worked with many individuals and their families under different settings both in the U.K and Canada. My experience includes working in child and adolescent in-patient psychiatric units, adult and youth community, working with mental health teams as a counsellor/therapist and intake worker, youth counsellor and as an eating disorder clinician for youth.
I have qualified as a nurse in 2000, graduating from the University of Central England, Birmingham. I am both, a Registered Nurse (RN) and Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) in British Columbia. I also hold a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy/Counselling. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors and a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.

I have a firm believe that working with children, teenagers, young adults and their families requires a unique and special approach. During my 18 years of field experience, I have developed some unique methods that let me effectively deal with the young pupil. My approach is very integrative and systematic and I have extensive training in dealing with young people who are particularly not very forthcoming.
